Ya tenemos apartamento y bicicletas!!! More about the bikes and new apartment

Hola familia!

We've been so busy these last fews days and been unlucky with the Internet but let me catch everyone up. Finally I received a call Thursday from Luftansa, letting me know that they had found the bikes! Who knows where they had been, but as you can see the box containing Laura's bike was half destroyed, and one of my boots which I had packed inside was missing. But the good news is the bikes were(now mine needs a little repair) not too beat up to assemble them and since then we've been exploring more of Berlin by bike.

The other big news is that we've found an apartment Friday we moved in (see laura outside below). The location is excellent - we're in the Schoeneburg district, and 250 yards from the entrance to the Kleistpark metro station. It's in between our too work places in an Altbau (old building built before the war), on the first floor with a nice little courtyard and east facing windows. The outside of the building is a little dirty but we've been cleaning up and settling in. We're within walking distance from many little grocery stores, bakeries, and great restaurants. This morning we went jogging in a park behind the courthouse also very close to our apartment. This afternoon we're off to the Egyptian museum in city center if we can.

Last night we found a street festival going on just two blocks from the house. This gives you a picture of the neighborhood

We'll write again soon. Tomorrow Laura returns to work and I go to Ecologic for my first day.
